“The True Cause of Candida”
There is only one True Primary Cause of Candida and related
degenerative diseases,
and it's not what you think!
To the extent conventional medicine even
recognizes Candidiasis as a real health issue; it has a challenging
time understanding the real underlying cause of Candida within its
philosophical framework. Insisting on reducing disease to well
defined causal relationships and unable to identify one specific
cause, Pathogenic Candidiasis is simply referred to as a
multi-factorial illness.
In other words it basically means that
there are many causes of Candida contributing to it growth and
proliferation without really understanding how these factors are
interrelated and what the true cause of Candida really is. This
perception is typical of the allopathic or germ-based paradigm
which is the philosophical foundation of western medicine.
Western medicine by its very nature tries to find
the cause effect relationship for every symptom and avoids taking
into consideration the bio-chemical dynamics of the human body as a
whole. Viewing illnesses through this lens can be extremely
confusing especially when you are trying to explain how it is
possible for Pathogenic Candidiasis to have so many seemingly
unrelated causes. Being restricted by this limited way of viewing
illnesses it is impossible to understand the underlying true cause
of Candida
What follows is an explanation of the cause of Candida
I have found from several alternative sources on the subject:
"When we are healthy, Candida is kept in check by
friendly bacteria such as Acidophilus and Bifidus (also commonly
referred to as probiotics). The problems begin when the intestinal
environment is disturbed and as a result, Candida and other
potentially pathogenic microorganisms have the chance to proliferate
and crowd out the friendly bacteria. All of the many causes of
Candida result in the same outcome, namely disturbing the critical
balance of the myriad of potentially pathogenic microorganisms to
the friendly bacteria in our intestinal tract."
They have part of the equation right but are
still caught in the traditional way of thinking of viewing Candida
as something which needs to be suppressed and kept into check. The
only way Pathogenic Candidiasis is able to develop is when your
natural intestinal environment is out of balance which is also
called intestinal Dysbiosis. Intestinal dysbiosis happens when
our body is assaulted beyond its natural ability to maintain
internal homeostasis (balance or harmony).
Disease causing or pathogenic candida can only exist in an environment which allows it to thrive. This is true for the digestive tract as well as the internal milieu of your body. Attacking candida is not going to lead to a long term solution if the underlying issue of a disturbed internal environment is not properly addressed.
In the case of a disturbed intestinal environment (dysbiosis), Candida will adapt to
its new environment and in the process change from its benign form
into a pathogenic form. Intestinal candidiasis only occurs as a
consequence of dysbiosis which is the real underlying cause
of Candida but also a host of other degenerative diseases including
chronic fatigue and fibromyalgia.
In its pathogenic form, Candida Albicans produces
waste products or mycotoxins such as acetaldehyde. The liver
converts acetaldehyde into alcohol and uses its detox
pathways to rid itself of it.
If your body’s own natural resources
are taxed beyond its normal ability to detoxify itself, toxins such
as alcohol and other metabolites will accumulate and interfere with
your body’s healthy metabolism. Many of the illnesses and symptoms are a direct result of this toxic overload and toxins produced by
Candida Albicans.
The Secondary Causes of Candida Yeast Infections
What follows is a list of the most dominant causes of Intestinal
Dysbiosis which is a prerequisite and the underlying cause of (intestinal) candida:
- Bad Diet and Life style:The primary reason is simply
having bad eating habits and unhealthy lifestyle. Our diet is the
one thing we have a lot of control over but at the same time the
most difficulty in managing. Bad dietary habits and disease go
hand in hand and unless you are willing to tackle that area of
your life no healing will take place. Following some relatively easy to follow Candida diet guidelines is the foundation for restoring your health and vitality.
- Antibiotics: Antibiotics destroy both harmful bacteria
and good bacteria alike. Antibiotics literally translates in
“against life” and destroys friendly bacteria in our intestinal
tract. Antibiotics are a main cause for Intestinal Dysbiosis and
related diseases.
- Immune Deficiency: Any condition that weakens your
immune system will make your body more susceptible intestinal
dysbiosis; the prerequisite condition and cause of Candida.
- Environmental toxins: This ranges from polluted tap
water and air pollution to food additives and other toxins in our
direct environment. This overload is a serious contributing factor
to the development of a Candida yeast infection and degenerative
diseases in general. Common tap water for example, is high in
chlorine which has been found to destroy friendly intestinal
bacteria.
- Stress: Stress has a profound influence on our body and
long-term adversely affects your immune system and endocrine
system. A depressed immune system and raised blood sugar levels
promote the proliferation of Candida leading to a yeast infection.
- Hormonal Imbalance: A balance between estrogen and
progesterone is needed to support friendly intestinal flora.
Continued imbalance means a resistant case of yeast overgrowth.
- Hyper and hypothyroidism: Every system in your body is
interconnected. The thyroid plays an important role in maintaining
healthy hormone levels. A depressed thyroid disrupts the natural
digestive secretions which results in an impaired digestive
function. Hyper and hypothyroidism also has a negative effect on
your immune system.
- Diabetes: Another condition which is the direct result
of our life style and self-care habits. High blood sugar
stimulates yeast growth which help to complicate an already
serious condition.
- Drugs and Alcohol: Alcohol is a metabolic waste product
of the liver which the body eliminates. The dizzy sensation which
comes from drunkenness is the result of your body not being able
to detoxify the alcohol fast enough. Beer which is fermented is
especially a problem due to its malt sugar yeast content. Malt
sugars are easily absorbed and stimulate the growth of Candida
Albicans possibly resulting in Intestinal Dysbiosis which is the
underlying cause of Candida.
- Birth Control: Birth control is designed to trick the
body by influencing the endocrine system. There are many
scientific studies showing that a hormone imbalance influences the
intestinal environment by effecting the balance of good versus
potentially pathogenic bacteria.
- Constipation: When left untreated constipation can lead
to more serious conditions. Constipation leads to the intestinal
tract becoming more alkaline, which is the environment pathogenic
Candida and other putrefactive bacteria thrive in. A lot of times
this becomes a viscous circle leading from bad to worse.
No matter which of the many contributing secondary factors for
developing Pathogenic Candidiasis, none of these factors by
themselves is the cause of this Condition.
It becomes quickly clear that there are many causes of
Intestinal Dysbiosis which lead to a yeast infection and other
illnesses. Since Candidiasis is a classic example of a
multifactorial condition, it follows that every patient will
have a different history and disease pattern regardless of his or
her specific combination of the many secondary causes of Candida. The bottom
line is that the underlying condition is intestinal dysbiosis
(disharmony) which creates the right environment for pathogenic
Candida to develop.
Any effective cure must always be focused on removing the
underlying cause of Intestinal Dysbiosis and helping your body
detox and return to its original and natural state of healthy
homeostasis. Unfortunately, most Candida products and healing
protocols still treat Pathogenic Candidiasis as something which
requires treatment on its own. Pathogenic Candidiasis is not cured
by treating Candida but only by treating the underlying Intestinal
dis-harmony.
